Handprint Leprechaun crafts
Posted Mar 15, 2024 by Jacquie Robison
Bring the luck of the Irish to your home with one of these simple St. Patrick's Day crafts.
These are fun crafts that encourage fine motor skills, and there are a couple of options for you to consider. You can decide what works best based on the materials you have available, and whether you want to have scissors/cutting be an element of the project.
Both crafts are handprint leprechauns, and they're fun and creative.
One version requires only plain white paper and crayons -- it's that easy! Your child can trace their handprint on the paper, and then use the crayons to make a leprechaun hat and draw a face.
The other option requires markers, construction paper, glue or tape, and scissors. Once again, have your child trace their hand on the construction paper, and draw a hat on another color paper. They can choose to add a band and buckle, or any other embellishment they want! Your child will work on their cutting skills and hand-eye coordination as they put together the pieces.
You can use either of these crafts as fun namecards for place settings on St. Patrick's Day (bonus: when you wear green on St. Patrick's Day so you don't get pinched, keep that outfit in mind for March 25th, Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day. Go Green for CP!)
