2023 WAWOS Wishes
Posted Dec 17, 2023 by Jacquie Robison
This is one of the favorite times of year for our WAWOS nonprofit. Each year, on Giving Tuesday, we begin to review the nominations we've received from people across the country; who share details about charity organizations in their neighborhood that are making adventure and recreation accessible for kids with physical disabilities.

A core belief at WAWOS is 'community over competition'. As the founder of WAWOS, and as mom to an incredible child who happens to have a neuromuscular delay, I've seen how important it is for my daughter to explore her interests, move her body, and build friendships and grow confidence.

WAWOS Wishes awards financial gifts of $2500 each to nonprofit organizations across the country that offer adaptive sport, recreation, art and other programs. Our goal is to support their operational costs so that more families can have access to these great resources.

The 2023 WAWOS Wishes recipients are:

1. Brady Riding in San Francisco, CA
2. Lakeshore Foundation in Birmingham, AL
3. Adaptive Sports in Boston, MA
4. Grace Fisher Foundation in Santa Barbara, CA
5. The Arc of the Ozarks in Springfield, MI
6. CAST for Kids in Salem, OR
7. Arts For All in Madison, WI
8. The Barns at Blue Mountain in Abingdon, VA
9. Child Serve in Iowa
10. Green Mountain Adaptive Sports in Hyde Park, VT
11. Texas Adaptive Aquatics in Houston, TX
12. Adaptive Sports Foundation in Windham, NY
13. Greater Buffalo Adaptive Sports in Lancaster, NY
14. National Institute of Arts and Disabilities in Richmond, CA
15. Adaptive Expeditions in Charleston, South Carolina

Thank you for all you do to make recreation, fun, and adventure, accessible for amazing kids across the country!
