Tis the Season for Inclusion
Posted Dec 4, 2022 by Jacquie Robison
On December 3, we celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This year, the United Nations honored a theme of "Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fueling an accessible and equitable world."

There's no question that adaptive sports and newly-minted accessible tech have advanced us considerably toward this goal over the past few years. Initiatives like Invictus Games to support military personnel and the Paralympics receiving more broadcast coverage are both ways to grow representation and conversation.

There are also many small, meaningful ways we can each do our part to support a more inclusive world. Here are a few to think about as we approach the holiday giving season:

-Use smile.amazon.com and choose WAWOS in the dropdown menu. When you shop at AmazonSmile, you’ll find the exact same low prices, vast selection, and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added benefit that AmazonSmile will donate 0.5% of your eligible purchases to the charitable organization of your choice.

-Download these printable inclusive gift tags from WAWOS and use them to spread some holiday cheer and showcase your inclusive spirit!

-Volunteer in your community and get involved! Is there an accessible playground in your neighborhood? How can you champion being a voice to create one? Look around and identify public spaces that could be more friendly to assistive devices and those with physical differences...you can make a difference!

Merry Everything from all of us at WAWOS
